El Taco Grande, a popular Mexican restaurant in Batavia, IL that has been in business since 1991, took a look at their dated illuminated cabinet sign and thought: "We can do better! A larger, more attractive sign would generate more business as it would identify and direct customers to our restaurant."
So they reached out to Parvin-Clauss Sign Co to look at options for illuminated exterior wall signs.
When they decided on a design, Parvin-Clauss developed a sketch and forwarded it to the Batavia planning department for review.
Their North River Street location is in a historic building which meant Batavia's Historic Preservation Commission (BHPC) would have to review the design. Signs on historic buildings follow a specific criteria, including exterior illumination and installation guidelines to preserve the structure.
The BHPC met, reviewed the design, and voted to approve it.

And the finished product? El Taco Grande has an eye-catching sign that they can be proud of, on a historic building that enhances Batavia's River Street.
